The margin calculator will help you calculate how much margin is needed to open your trading position.
Select your trading instrument from the drop down menu.
Select your desired currency.
Input the leverage (see what is leverage below)
Input the trade size. Note: 1 lot = 100,000 units.
The calculator will include the latest price of your selected trading instrument, however you are able to amend this if required.
Click Calculate.
Leverage allows you to trade larger positions, by using borrowed funds from your broker. For example, if you are trading with 1:100 leverage on an account with $1,000, you are able to use margin to trade up to $100,000 (100 x $1,000).
Leverage allows you to make increase profits, however always keep in mind that losses will be magnified as well.
